Finale SongWriter 2010 Description
|
While Finale SongWriter makes it easy to create great sheet music at an affordable price, that’s just the beginning. Finale SongWriter allows you to enter notes from a mouse, computer keyboard, or midi keyboard. You can add chord symbols, fretboard diagrams, and multiple verses of lyrics. Finale SongWriter can automatically add two and three voice harmony to your melodies and instantly add a drum part. The music you create sounds great through your computer’s speakers thanks to Human Playback and 128 professional sounds. You can import and export MIDI files, create MP3 files, and save your work as a standard Finale file which can also be shared with users of Finale Notepad (a free download). If getting music on the printed page is part of your songwriting project, Finale SongWriter is the perfect collaborator.

Finale SongWriter 2010 customer reviews:
|
Too Nosy I used this package, and in an amazingly short time I had everything set up and I was playing notes on midi-keyboard and they were appearing in real-time on sheet music on the computer screen. You would think that would merit five stars, because the program performed as advertised, However, they lost a lot of points for their unnecessarily nosy registration process.
While I don't care much myself, a lot of people hate online-only activation processes. This had one, but it worked smoothly. After putting in the key
and activating the program, they insisted on me registering; sharing my name, address and email address with them. Those fields were marked as "* required", so I knew which ones to put random garbage in.
I suppose I could have taken some time to find a company email to submit, so the spam would not go to waste.
Can activate only 1 computer! I bought this thinking I would be able to put it on both my desktop and on my netbook so I could work on it in another room our outside. Nothing told me in the description otherwise. I contacted the company and they responded that I could activate and reactivate every time I switch from one to the other...but suggested I buy another copy! Yeah, right!
You get your money's worth For the money, you'll not find a better program. It's not a comlicated program even though it does complicated things, but it does take time and effort to learn it. But isn't that true with any multiple-function program? I've yet to run into anything it doesn't do (exception-temolo marking)that I want to do. I primarily use it to make transcriptions of music from several sources (jazz, orchestra, choral etc.) and arrange it and modify it for contert band.
Good product I bought this for my son who will be majoring in music ed at college. He absolutely loves it. It meets all his expectations.
Does not work with MIDI Keyboard I bought a M-Audio Midisport Uno cable because I thought that the program was not working because of the cheap generic USB/MIDI cable I had bought with the program. The truth, to my surprise, was that even after buying the M-Audio Midisport Uno cable and installing it's drivers (I downloaded the latest from their website), this software continued to be a complete pain in the ...
The MIDI device Setup was in: MIDI IN: USB Uno Midi in. MIDI OUT: Soft Synth 1. Everything was in place, the Hyperscribe button was activated, I heard the countoffs... but when I started to play on the piano, again, nothing happened and I, once more, lost more money (on the expensive cable) and more time (I tried more than once again).
PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS (MAYBE I'M TOO DUMB TO UNDERSTAND THIS SOFTWARE), post a review titled: "Instructions to Insert Notes through a musical instrument via MIDI/USB", or something like that. My operating system is Windows XP Service Pack 3 (every article talked here is supposed to work on Windows XP).
Until now... DON'T BUY IT PLEASE.
