A Great Source of Frustration
Everything about this product works fine except for one glaring aspect: the DVDs created by this product. I installed the software with no problem. I ingested the video from the VHS tape to my laptop with no problem. I made edits, created a menu, and I burned a DVD. The result? None of the five standard DVD players I tried would play back the DVD I burned. Only my computer would playback the disc, and even then it was diffcult because Windows Media player would sometimes lock up. The success of my laptop playing back the disc is the only reason this producted isn't receiving a one star rating from me. Overall, what's the point in having this product if it won't create DVDs that can be used in standard DVD players? Answer: find another product or buy a DVD/VCR combo.
Quick and Easy
I purchased this product to add additional footage to a video project I was completing for a client. I installed the software and plugged in the converter box and everything worked perfect. I would to add that the interface was very user friendly and extremely easy to understand and operate. I highly recommend this software for transferring analog vhs, Hi-8, and etc to digital. Be aware that converting analog to digital does not improve the quality of the footage. It's just a way to better preserve old mediums before they degrade beyond discernible viewing.
Great Program for Dubbing my family VHS tapes!
There have been no problems with the use of this program. Very simple to use! The only issue was making sure to download and install the driver from the manufacturer website so that it would work with Windows 7.
Excellent Product
It's an excellent product. I've converted all my old VHS's easily into digital format. Recommend for everyone who would like to handle your old videos using the current technology.
