Buen programa!!!!!
Esta es la segunda versión que tengo de este programa, el mejor programa para mi para poder usar simultáneamente Windows y MACOS, lo único en contra, hace muy lenta mi computadora en comparación con la versión anterior, usando los dos sistemas operativos simultáneamente, tengo 4GB de RAM y uso Leopard y Windows XP.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible Customer Support
I have spent a full hour trying to get support for an activation key which was incorrectly given, and NO ONE has been able to solve the problem. I am constantly given another phone number, and then given the wrong kind of activation key (an upgrade when I need a full version key). BUY VMWare Fusion (which I own); I WOULDN'T BLINK AT THIS RIDICULOUS COMPANY WHO HAS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

I am very happy with Parallels 4.0 - I was using the previous version and although I was happy to have Windows on Mac machines I found certain limitations. One inparticuliar was the amount of video ram that you could allocate, it was too low and affected graphic programs and game performance.
With the new version you are able to do your Windows work and play medium end Windows games on Mac without even noticing that you are not on a "PC."
Raw product and false advertising
I had Parallels Desktop 3.0 for about 1 year and it was working pretty good. The problems I had were crashes of Parallels Tools software in Vista (it started after upgrade to some newer build) and also I wanted x64 support and better DirectX support.
The Parallels site promised me all things I wanted and also 50% speed up. So that sounded like a miracle.
I didn't want to pay $40 for upgrade, but there was some additional discount for the first buyers, so I finally purchased it via website.
I downloaded and installed it without real problems. The installation was long and it converted my virtual machines to another format, so I understood I won't be able to roll back to 3.0 What a shame! I didn't make a backup.
I have started to use it and noticed there really were some directX improvement - I tested Chicken Little game of 2005 and it worked this time (it didn't work in 3.0) The speed was good enough to play.
But I didn't notice any speed improvements, moreover I found it's about 2-3 times more slow than 3.0
Also saving the OS Snapshots and restoring takes about TEN minutes - it was working in seconds in 3.0
The program eats so much of computer resources that it's very hard to switch back to mac os x applications while it is running - there was no such problem in 3.0
Also the startup, shutdown and suspending are significantly (2-3 times) more slow than in 3.0
I am really dissatisfied with suspending which was working so fast in 3.0
Now it is very disappointing and slow.
I have iMac with Core2Duo and 1.5 Gb of RAM.
The final step which made me angry is when I clicked Check for update button I was told that MY LICENSE DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO UPDATE THE PROGRAM! Wow what a good gift for the customers who upgraded it in the first days after release! Maybe that is a fee for their small discount, I am not sure.
The tech support is really poor as others written. They did everything on their site to make hard for the customers to contact the live person.
And while I was satisified with 3.0, v.4.0 is really a bad move! Better get 3.0 and maybe you will love it.
