Saints Row 2 customer reviews:

Great action The game have some great action and online gaming, but the story is the only thing that does not make sence.
Fantastic game, horrible on the PC This is actually a very fun game that I personally enjoy a lot more than GTA4. It picks up on the silliness of the GTA3 era goes a lot further. On the PC however it simply does not run very well. My PC absolutely destroys the minimum requirements, and its just barely playable. There was one patch, after which the developer said that there would be no more development on the PC version. On the consoles there are two DLCs you can pay for and one for free. On the PC there is absolutely nothing. The user interface is extremely awkward and will make you wish you had actually purchased it for a console. Vehicles are extraordinarily twitchy using the default WASD controls, making some missions/challenges far more difficult than they really should be. There was simply no care taken with this port, and unlike GTA4 it will not be supported in the future. Stay away from the PC version.
If you have a fast pc...and you like games...buy this game now I have a core i7 with 6bg ram and a geforce 275 gtx. This game is very fun and runs smooth. Saint's Row 2 is my favorite game right now and has been for the past few months. BTW...if your PC can't run this game, it's time for a new PC. Seriously the last sandbox game I liked was Vice City because of the overall style of the game. This game is what GTA San Andreas or GTA IV should have been. Wow.
BEWARE - This game will only run well on an awesome PC I love this game, however I have a $4,000 computer. I built the computer myself so god knows what it would have cost from alienware.
So basically, if you have the very latest and best cpu, graphics cardS, tons of ram, asus mobo, etc, buy this game and you will love it! It will look great, play great and be fun!
HOWEVER, if you do not have a cutting edge pc, and can't afford one, just forget about this game. Play WOW or something that any pc can run.
my pc:
intel core i7 3.2ghz cpu
evga gtx 285
another gtx 285
12 gb of ddr3 ram, i forget what speed but it was the 2nd fastest corsair available from newegg in feb 2009
asus p6t mobo
1200w toughpower power supply
cooler master v8 cpu cooler
cooler master cosmos case
10,000rpm western digital harddrive
It's a good game once you overcome the bugs I won't say much on gameplay because that topic is pretty well covered. It is a lot like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas except that all vehicles and your character are heavily customizable. You can do pretty much whatever you want in the game just like the Grand Theft Auto series. The game is a lot of fun once you get it working right.
There's two major problems with this game that aren't obvious:
1) You need a tri-core or better processor. On a dual core processor or less, it is nearly impossible to drive at full speed due to lag.
2) This game has timing issues on Windows 7. You can use Saints Row 2 Power tools to fix this: [...]
Note that even the boxed retail copy of this game requires Steam to run. Don't be surprised when Steam asks you for your serial number instead of the usual installer.
It has at least 35 hours of single player game time if you do everything. It offers cooperative and other multiplayer modes for online (GameSpy ID) and LAN networking.
Once you get it working right, I would rate this game 8/10. It gets docked one point for requiring Steam and one point for having low bit-rate music.
